Who We Are
Wood Art is a club for people of all ages, men and women who enjoy working with wood who get together to share experience and skills, also to assist beginners and learners in the art of carving, wood turning and other wood crafts. There are sixty members.
Safe guards are in place to allow the club to accept young people and currently there are three in attendance.
The photograph was taken on the occasion that the club received a cheque for £975 which was used to provide air filters for each of the lathes. From left to right: Member of the Flintshire Voluntary Council, two club members, club Secretary, a former Chairman and current club Chairman. The club is anxious to promote good and safe working practices and reducing dust levels was seen as an important factor.
A grant of £3110 from the Welsh Big Lottery Fund was also received and used to provide wood turning machinery, lathes, etc.
